PAUL
Paul studied Musicology and English at the University of Utrecht and European Studies in Amsterdam. He has worked for Dutch national and international radio as well as for the BBC.
Strikwerda provides professional voiceover services in Dutch (mother tongue), English and German to clients who wish to lend their products and services a sophisticated sound. But it’s not all work and no play.
Paul produces entire casts of characters, showing off his rather silly side. He has done voiceovers in the style of John Cleese, David Attenborough, Stephen Fry and Don LaFontaine, a.k.a. “the voice of God.”
Paul works for clients such as Plantronics, The Wharton School, Novartis, DuPont and the United Nations.

As a Dutch voice talent, writer, humorist and translator Paul has been recording his own voice since his parents gave him a portable cassette recorder at the age of five. His first audio book was the Dutch version of the “Velveteen Rabbit.” His efforts paid off.
At age seventeen, Paul was hand-picked to produce and present youth programs for Dutch radio and television. This was the start of a career in broadcasting which eventually led him to the BBC and Radio Netherlands Worldwide.
He also became a sought-after media trainer, teaching terrified CEOs to relax in front of the camera and not be intimidated by unexpected questions. His main tactic was to intimidate his students by asking them unexpected questions.
He moved to the United States in late 1999 to take his coaching and media career into the new millennium. There he discovered a largely untapped market for European voiceover talent.
Today, Paul provides voiceover services in Dutch, English and in German to major clients on all continents. His “Double Dutch” blog reaches thousands of readers with articles about the voiceover industry, marketing, psychology and freelancing.
Paul also heads the international department at Internet Voice Coach, a web site for those who wish to pursue and perfect a voiceover career.
His voice has been described as:
• clear, credible and flexible
• natural and trustworthy
• intelligent and sincere
• ultimately European
Paul lives and works on the East Coast of the United States. When he’s not recording, you may find him pursuing his hobby: marrying people (as a non-denominational wedding officiant!).
